The bar chart outlines the changes in travel habits by modes of transport from 1990 to 2000 in the United Kingdom.
Looking from an overall perspective,it is readily apparent that the most common forms of transport were by bus and rail, and there was an increase in traveling over the period by bus, rail, and air, while the bicycle and motorbike usage fell.
Turning to the details, busing accounted for precisely 40 kilometers in 1990, before a small rise to 42 by 2000. However, rail was lowered in both periods at 36 and 38 km, respectively.
It is clearly observed that the less used modes of transport were all under 5 km a week. The bicycle began at 2 km and dropped to 1 km, while motorbike halved from 4 to 2 km. Finally, air was just above 1 but had quadrupled to 4km each week for each person by 2000.
