The given pie charts show the global market share of three computer operating systems (OS) and other systems between 2012 and 2015.
Overall, OS 1 had the largest market share throughout the period, with a steady increase from 2012 to 2015. In contrast, the share of other systems sharply declined while OS 2 and OS 3 remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations.
In 2012, other systems had the almost galf of the shares while OS 1 was accounted for 20%. Followed by OS 2 and OS 3 which had 17% and 15% of global shares, respectively. In the next year, only OS 1’s market shares rose to 38%. Other systems declined sharply to 35%. OS 3 decreased from 15% to 10%. OS 2 remained unchanged in 2013.
In 2014, OS 1 market shares kept rising and had almost 50% of global shares (47%) Other systems fell dramatically to 23%. While OS 2 and OS 3 showed slight rises to 12% and 18% in 2014.At the end of the period, other types of systems continued to decline and reached 15%, figure is same for OS 3 which experienced a slight increase. OS 1 represented a dramatic growth in its market dominance, reaching 52% in 2015. Meanwhile OS 2 remained stable at 18% in the letter half of the period.
