The illustration demonstrates British Emigration to different countries around the globe between 2006 and 2009.
Overall, Australia had been the most popular destination in every year, while Greece only peaked in 2007 and had a dramatical fall afterwards. Canada, Germany and USA had the stablest numbers, although the English-speaking countries fluctuated.
There are two obvious tendencies on the picture. Australia had an upwards trend, increasing the number of British immigrants from roughly 42 000 to 52 000 in 4 years. Nevertheless, Germany had a downfall trend, losing approximately 3 000 people.
Canada’s chart illustrates a plummet in the quantity of British people interested in 2008 and 2009. On the other hand, the curiosity in the USA increased in 2008 despite the fact that the country’s data were still fluctuating and by 2009 the British reduced their interest in the latter and chose Australia as a country for immigration over any other destination.
