The line chart illustrates requests for information received by a tourist information office in the United Kingdom through three different methods – in person, by letter/email, and by telephone – from January to June.
Overall, enquiries made in person increased sharply and became the most dominant method by the end of the period. Telephone enquiries also showed an upward trend despite some fluctuation, whereas requests sent by letter or email declined steadily throughout six months.
In detail, in person enquiries began at approximately 400 in January and rose gradually to around 800 by March. This figure then increased dramatically, reaching about 1200 in April and peaking at nearly 1900 requests in June, representing the most significant growth among the three categories.
By contrast, telephone enquiries started at around 900 in January and experienced a slight drop in February before increasing to around 1000 in March and April. Thereafter, the number rose rapidly, reaching approximately 1600 by June. Meanwhile, enquiries made by letter or email showed a continuous downward trend, falling from about 750 in January to around 350 in May, where the figure remained stable in June
