The diagrams below depict the distribution of the world’s water and how it is used in three different countries.
From the first pie chart, it can be clearly seen that the vast majority of water source is from ocean accounting for 97 percent. By contract, fresh water contributed only three percent in global water sources. The second pie chart illustrates the composition of the sources of fresh water in which ground water is a major source, representing nearly four fifth of total fresh water sources. The other two sources are ground water which shares one fifth and surface water is insignificant, only 1 percent.
Turning into the bar chart which shows the usage of the water by three different countries, it can be seen that Egypt and Saudi Arabia used around 80% of water in agricultural sector where as Canada uses only 10%. By contract, the usage of water in industrial sector takes place largely in Canada representing 80% while the usage of the same sector is around 10% in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It is found that the usage of water for domestic purpose is not significant difference that all three countries stand around 10%.
