The chart illustrates the propothsrtions of male and female employees working in various job categories at an engineering company in 2005 and 2015.
Overall, men accounted for the majority of employees in most job categories in both years, especially in technical and managerial positions. However, the proportion, the women increased over the ten-year period, particularly in professional and administrative roles.
In 2005, male employees dominated the engineering and technical positions, making up aroud four-fifths of the workforce, while women represented only a small minority. A similar pettern was seen in managerial roles, where men significantly outnumbered women. By contrast, women were more strongly represented in administrative jobs, accounting for approximately half of the employees in this category.
By 2015, noticeable changes had occured. The share of female employees rose in nearly all job categories. In pprofessional roles, women’s participation increased considerably, narrowing the gender gap. Administrative positions became female-dominated, with women forming a clear majority. Although men continued to hold most engineering and management posts, their proportion declined slightly compared to 2005.
