The bar graph illustrates the rate of female and male tutors in six different categories – nursery, primary school, secondary school, college, private training institute, and university lecturers- in the United Kingdom in 2019.
Overall, it’s clear that women surpass men in the first three categories, whereas in the last two categories the opposite trend can be observed. In the college category female and male teachers maintain the same level.
Nursery and primary schools have almost the same trends. In the first category the most noticeable thing is the high percentage of women in nursery, while the proportion of men is about 5%. Primary schools’ proportion shows a similar pattern, with a slightly higher male teacher’s rate. In the next section rates sharply change to almost 50% for both men and women.
In the college category it’s evident that proportions are exactly half and half. In the last two sections – private training institute and university lecturers – male professors markedly outnumber female by 10-20%.
