overall, it appears that the highest poverty rates both the genders were in their childhood. Whereas middle aged men and women had the lowest rate of being poor.
As it is presented in the bar graph, during childhood both the genders had nearly the same rate of poverty which was just above one-fifth. Similarly, the male and female between the 5-17 age bracket faced the poverty levels below one-fifth proportion. However, it can be significantly seen that the levels remained unchanged for men but women category saw an upsurge and reached one-fifth in their youth. This trend carried on Inis trend as for the age group 25 to 34, poverty in women was more than men by 5 percent.
Relatively, it is observed that for age gorou 45-54 and 55-59 the poverty rates gradually fell just below one-tenth among women and the rate of poverty among men showed consistency. In continuation, between the age bracket of 60-64, there was a minor uprising in the rates by 2 to 3 percent among both genders. The men’s poverty rates showed consistency from the age of 65-74 and 75-up. Moreover the women’s category remained consistent in the age group 65-74 but the poverty levels climbed rapidly up to a significant minority.
