This trend faced a slight decrease in popularity because one year later it was chosen by only 48%. In 2018 it came back on the right track and reached 51%, followed by another boost in 2019. In that year social networks reached a staggering 56%. The second most chosen reason for young people to use their phones were emails with 25% in 2016. Emails were less renowned in 2017 because only 24% of people choose them as the reason why they use their phones. Emails kept dropping in popularity because in 2018 they dropped to 20%, finally to get bypassed by other reasons in 2019 reaching 19%.
Digital cameras were the reason why 15% of young Africans from that country used phones in 2016. Its popularity has not changed year later as it stayed the same.
