The bar chart compares the proportion of the weight measurement among the residents in different ages of the town of Newtown in 2010. As it is observed, being obese increased by age, while the opposite was true for the ideal weight.
Regarding the ideal weight section, people under 30 made up for the highest proportion, with 70% of them having a healthy weight. However, the minority of inhabitants who had the perfect weight belonged to people aged 60 to 69 with only 5%. Moreover, other age groups ranged from 40% to 50% in the mentioned weight assessment. In contrast, the majority of elderly people whose age from 60 to 69 were reported to have experienced obesity, accounted for 60% of them. Nevertheless, obesity declined by age, from nearly 50% in the 50 to 59 age group to about 2% in the 20 to 29 age group.
Moving into other weight assessment sections, people aged from 30 to 49 and over 60 took up nearly 40% in the overweight problem, while two other groups were reported to have less than 10%. Additionally, being underweight was only a problem among young adults, with 20% obtaining this diagnosis, and the number of underweight elderly people had fallen to 10%. Moreover, this problem only took up a minimal ration in people aged 30 to 59 at only less than 1%.
