The line chart shows how the revenue of three well-known hotels in the UK changed from 2000 to 2016, and the pie charts illustrate the types of guests who stayed in these hotels.
Overall, the Grand Palace Hotel earned the most money during the whole period. Riverside Inn increased its revenue slowly but steadily, while Skyline Resort had strong fluctuations and ended with a sharp decline. The guest distribution was also quite different between the hotels.
In 2000, the Grand Palace made around 25 million pounds, Skyline earned about 20 million, and Riverside Inn around 12 million. By 2016, the Grand Palace rose to nearly 38 million, and Riverside Inn reached about 25 million. However, Skyline Resort first increased to about 32 million in 2008 but then fell sharply to 10 million by the end of the period.
Regarding guest types, the Grand Palace mostly welcomed international visitors, who made up 60%. In Riverside Inn, most guests were domestic (46%), while 39% were international. Skyline Resort had 57% international guests and 43% domestic ones, and it did not have an “unknown” category.
