The pie charts illustrate the age of visitors who come from UK to Spain over the period of 20 years, starting from 1983 to 2003.
Overall, it is obvious that there were significant changes in the proportions of different age groups and followed an upward trend of the UK visitors in 0-24 years and over 55 years groups while the opposite was true for the age groups of 25-54 years during the period.
In 1983, the largest age group was 34-54 years which accounted for a half of the total visitors travel to Spain. Beside that, the age group of 25-34 years took up a smaller share than that at the biggest proportion, which were 20% and 50% respectively. Third group was over 55 years group which consisted of nearly 16 percent. The Spain’s visitors in 0-15 years group accounted for a little larger proportion than that at the last group in 16-24 years, which were 10% and 4% respectively.
The year 2003, there was a moderate decrease to 35% in the 34-54 years visitors. In addition, the age group of 25-34 years witnessed a slight decline about 10% while the opposite was true for the 0-24 years and more over 55 years group which increased noticeably. Especially, there was a considerable growth to 26 percent in the oldest group in 2003. The Spain’s visitors in 16-24 years group accounted for a bigger proportion than that at the last group in 0-15 years which were 15% and 12% respectively.
