The pie charts illustrate the proportion of online time spent by male and female students on five different types of websites.
Overall, sport-related websites were dominant among the male students, but in fact, the situation across the female students was the opposite, with sport being one of the smallest categories. For girls, studying-related websites were the most significant category, whilst it ranked second among males.
Among the male students, sport-related websites took the biggest proportion of the chart, with 35%, while study ranked second, at 30%. News-related websites were not as popular as sport-related ones among males, with a mere 20%. The “Other” category was one of the smallest categories in the chart, at just 10%, followed by shopping, which was the least interesting website among them, with only 5%.
However, the situation among the female students was different. Study-related websites were dominant among them, at 45%, whereas shopping ranked as the next most common category, with 20%. News-related websites were less attention-grabbing for female students, at only 15%, while among male students, it took 20%. Sport and the “Other” category were the smallest categories, with a mere 10% each.
