The charts below shows the percentages of US’s undergraduate students who were able to talk languages other than their mother tune, in 2005 and 2015. Over all, it is clear from the charts that the ratio of students that don’t speakes any additional languages are decreasing, in addition spanish language speakers are increasing.
American students in 2005 are divided on 6 parts, the majority of them represents around half of the students speaks english only. Moreover, the spanish language presents nearly a fifth, while French and German languages camind represents 13 exactly.
On the other hand, American students in 2015 are also divided on 6 parts, the majority of them represents 30 % of the students speaks english only which is an increase in speaking languages. Moreover, the spanish language speakers rose 11 % over a decade presenting around 30 % , while French and German languages camind represents 15 exactly which is slightly higher then 2015.
To sum up, students the speaks two languages beside English decreased over the decade from 2005 to 2015.
