The data provided shows the percentage of energy produced from different recourses in countr in 1985 and 2003.
Overall, natural gas was the primary source of energy in both years, despite decreasing significantly. Next, renewable sources began to increase gradually.
In 1985, natural gas was the main source of energy in the country, with 52% of total energy produced. As for nuclear and oil, nuclear at 22% was exactly twice as much as oil which accounted for 11%. Coal and hydrogen showed a similar pattern to nuclear and oil, as the proportion of (8%) was double that of hydrogen (4%). By the end of the year, other renewables accounted for the lowest share in the chart, making up only 1%.
By 2003, the graph had changed significantly. Although the share of natural gas decreased to 39% of energy produced it remained the highest percentage in 2003 in country. While the percentage of oil saw second highest proportion of energy produced by 23%. Coal, at 22%, was only 1% lower than oil. However, compared to its previous figure, coal experienced a considerable rise of 14%. When it comes to nuclear and hydrogen, nuclear energy experienced a sharp decline to 8% whereas hydrogen showed no change. Finally, the proportion of other renewables increased slightly, reaching 4% by 2003, although it still remains the smallest share among all sources.
