The bar charts illustrate the percentage of weekly working hours in various industrial sectors among people in four European countries: France, Denmark, Sweden, and the UK. Overall, individuals in Denmark, Sweden, and the UK worked around 34 to 40 hours per week, while those in France typically worked between 31 and 33 hours.
In France, approximately 50% of workers spent 31 to 33 hours per week on their jobs. In comparison, only 25% of workers in Denmark, 40% in Sweden, and 10% in the UK fell into the same working hour category. Meanwhile, the majority of workers in Denmark and Sweden adhered to the 34 to 40-hour workweek, with 72% and 80%, respectively.
In the UK, although a significant percentage of workers—about 50%—were engaged in approximately 34 to 40 hours of work per week, there was a gradual increase in the percentage of those working 41 hours or more. This figure rose from 15% to over 20% for those putting in 41 to over 50 hours per week.
