The bar chart illustrates the proportion of men and women students of four different age categories who studied at Australia’s university for full and part-time education in 2006. Units are measured in percentages.
Overall, it can be seen that apart from males and females aged 30+ group , the proportion of part time education was dominant in other age groups. 20-24 age group in both genders showed significantly higher rate than other groups in part time.
To begin, males and females aged 20-24 followed a similar pattern in part and full education, at 49%, 12% and 42% and 12% respectively. The proportion of part-time in men and women aged 15-19 at 12% and 17% compared with the percentage of full time, at 8% and 7% respectively.
With regard to 25-29 age group, the figure for part-time depicted the same level at 8% in both genders, in comparison full-time rate was higher in females by 2%. However, in the next age group (30+) the proportion of full-time students was higher than part time in males and females by 2% and 6% respectively.
