The pie charts illustrate the figure for students on an adult education center taking different patterns of courses offered in 1985 and 2024.
Overall, a clear trend emerges, indicating the transformation of technology is apparent. In 1985, what received the most attention was the modern languages course and the fitness and dance course. However, this position will shift to IT and fitness in 2024.
In 1985, the modern languages course took up nearly a quarter, the highest compared to other courses existing in the education center. This figure, however, witnesses a decrease, stabilizing at around 17 percent this year. As for fitness and dance, this course notably contributes a steady 22% in both years, making it virtually the same as that of the modern language course in 1985. Art ranked next, with 17% for 1985 and 15% for 2024.
The local history course and cookery held an equal share of around 15% in 1985, followed by the music appreciation course with a mere 8% of students. Nevertheless, the music appreciation and the local history courses have been replaced by IT since 2024. The IT course consisted of 27%, nearly twice as much as cookery and local history in 1985. Cookery sees an increase to 19% of students taking this course in 2024.
