The given pie charts compare the courses chosen by pupils at an adult education center in terms of their popularity in 1885 and in this year.
Overall, it can be seen from the chart that modern languages made up the biggest part in the first year of the research, while this position belongs to the IT course at present. Additionally, art and modern languages witnessed a downward trend; whereas cookery increased slightly, and the IT course appeared.
In detail, the percentage of students engaging in modern languages stood at 24%, the highest figure that year, before declining to 17% this year. The art course decreased by 2% during the surveyed period. Moreover, while the figure for dance and fitness remained unchanged at just more than a fifth, the number of students enrolling in cookery classes witnessed a significant growth from 14% to near a fifth.
There is no information about the IT course in 1885, but it appeared and took the peak this year; its figure rose heavily to over a quarter, making it the most popular choice in the surveyed period. An opposite trend can be seen in the figures for music appreciation and local history, which no longer exist on the chart this year.
