Overall, it can be seen from the chart that home cooking gradually decreased in the given periods, whereas the percentage of the food budget spent on restaurant meals increased. For the second graph, fast food meals are much higher than sit-down restaurant meals at the end of the period.
To begin with, home cooking has the highest percentage of food budget in all the given periods, except in 2000, when it is even with 50% for both.
However, fast food and sit-down restaurant meals commenced at the same number of meals, with about 20 meals in 1970. In 1980, sit-down restaurants were higher than fast food meals with around 33 meals. However, in the following years, fast food meals significantly increased with nearly 88 meals, in 2000. While, sit-down restaurants gradually increased, with about 43 meals in 1990, 50 meals in 2000.
