The pie charts illustrate the proportions of people volunteering in various types of organizations in 2008 and 2014.
It is evident that while volunteer participation in environmental, sports, and health care organizations increased, the opposite trend occurred for other types of organizations. Furthermore, the percentage of health care volunteers was consistently the lowest across both years.
In 2008, volunteering in educational organizations was the most popular choice, accounting for nearly a quarter of all volunteers. Meanwhile, 21% of volunteers engaged in environmental projects, and 18% participated in art initiatives. Additionally, 15% of volunteers worked in sports organizations, with another 15% involved in other types of organizations. Only 6% volunteered in health care.
By 2014, a significant increase in volunteers was observed in environmental and sports organizations, which accounted for 29% and 25% of the total volunteers, respectively. In contrast, the percentages of volunteers in art and other organizations both declined by 6%. There was also a slight decrease in educational organization volunteers, which dropped to 17%. Health care remained the least preferred option, with only 8% of individuals volunteering in that sector.
