The pie charts illustrate how much water is used in six regions in the world, namely, in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia for Agricultural use, Domestic use, and Industrial use. At a glance, it can be seen that except in North America and Europe, all other areas use water for agricultural purposes.
Considering agricultural practices, more than four-fifths of water is used for agriculture in Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia regions, while the highest amount among these areas is recorded in Central Asia. In South America, the proportion used for this purpose is 71%. Europe uses the least percentage of water for farming, whereas North America uses 39%.
Comparatively, North America and Europe mostly use water for industrial purposes. While Europe uses more than half of its aqua sources, North America uses 48%. Other Regions use very low amounts of water for industrial requirements, whereas the least is used in Central Asia (5%). For domestic usage, while North America, South America, and Europe use a fairly high portion, other territories use incredibly low amounts of water in domestic activities.
