This chart showed the percentages of men and women learning Arabic, English, French, German, and Spanish. When we look at the chart for men, English is the most preferred foreign language to learn, at 38% in Bangladesh. Furthermore, the women’s chart shows a similar trend, with English also being the most popular choice at 44%.
If we look at the men’s chart more closely, we can see that the second most preferred foreign language to learn is Spanish. Arabic ranks third, followed by French in fourth place, while German is the least preferred foreign language, at 12%, among Bangladeshi men.
When we come back to the women’s chart, after English, which is the most preferred language, we can see that two languages share second place: Arabic and French, both at 18%. The last result is also similar to Bangladeshi men, as German is the least preferred foreign language among women as well.
Overall, Bangladeshi men and women both firstly preferred to learn English and least preferred to learn German. This similarity showed us the cultural preference isn’t changed for gender.
