The charts compare the percentages of laborers of both genders in the age range between 60 to 64 in four countries in 1970 and 2000, Overall, the percentage of male employment in this age category is significantly higher when compared to their counterpart. Additionally, a decline rate of men working is evident in all countries in 2000 compared to 1970
Initially, in 1970, 74%, 84%, 73%, and 79% were the documented fraction of males were workers in Australia, Japan, USA, and Belgium, respectively. In contrast, 30 years later, these figures plunged, especially in Belgium, were only 19% were in the workforce by 2000.
On the other hand, Australia and USA had slightly less percentage of female workers aged 60-64 in 1970 in comparison to 2000, the rates increased from 18% to 19% and 36% to 38%, respectively. While Japan and Belgium witnessed the opposite with minimal reduction in percentage of employees in 2000, standing at 40% and 7% respectively.
