The charts depict the percentage of four accomodations that was chosen by visitors in three decades, from 1988 to 2008.
Predominantly, staying with family was the most popular option throughout the period shown, although had a slight fluctuation. In contrast, camping had a downward trend and ended to be the least favourite place, whereas rented apartment saw the most significant growth. Hotels remained constant in the past two decades with an initial slight increase.
Looking at details, staying with family began at 50% in 1988 and rose slightly by 2% in the next decade. By 2008, it declined considerably to 44%, twice from rented apartment and hotels. Meanwhile, rented apartment started as the least accomodation to visit, but showed a consistent upward trend, soared from 7% to 22%, similarly to hotels
On the other hand, camping was initially at just over a quarter. However, it plummeted by a half at the following decade, and maintained stable at around 12%. In parallel, hotels climbed gradually by 7% and stayed the same since 1998 at 22%, become the second most demand place to live.
