The pie chart below illustrates the percentage of citizen’s total spending in one of the European countries on a different range of products and services throughout 50-year period.
Overall, in both years Housing was one of the most popular types of products. Whereas luxury goods and entertainment throughout the timeline was the least popular category of products and services.
In 1958 the most popular products to spend on was food with 32%, and on the second place was housing, with 22%. On the contrary, people in this particular European country preferred to spend money on luxury goods the least – it takes only 7% of the pie chart. Additionally, the clothing with less than a fifth percent is on the middle.
According to the 2008 graph, people’s preferences had dramatically changed. The food saw a sharp fall – from 32% in 1958 it fell to 12% in 2008. Whereas the housing showed an upward trend, rising from 22% to 32% in the timeframe of 50 years. The category of clothing remains stable with a slight dip – from 18% to 16%
