The pie charts illustrate the percentage of British Scolars at an English University able to speak foreign languages other than English, in the years 2000 and 2010.
Overall, Spanish was the most popular language among the students in both years; while the least number of students were able to speak two other languages.
Firstly, in the year 2000, majority of the student population were able to speak Spanish only, in addition to English (about 30%), 20% were unable to speak any other language. However, there was a tie between those who were able to speak another language and the ones who spoke two other languages respectively at 10%.
The trend of Spanish being the most spoken foreign language continued in the year 2010 with about 35% of the scholars being able to speak it. However, there was an increase in the population of those able to speak another language to 20% and there was yet another tie between those who were not able to speak any other language besides English, scholars who spoke only French and the ones able to speak two other languages qt 10% each.
