The bar charts illustrate the intake amounts of two types of nutrition, protein and calorie, among people in different regions worldwide.
Overall, people in North America have the highest protein consumption among all other areas, followed by Latin America and East Africa. India, however, presents the lowest figure. The same pattern can be witnessed in the calorie intake figures.
North America leads in protein consumption with nearly 80 daily units, making the region the only one passing the ideal intake level. 62% of its protein sources are from animals, significantly higher than other protein sources. Latin America follows at about 45 units per day, also having a large proportion of sources from animals. East Africa and India show similar amounts, about 30 units per day, but have equal proportions of sources from animals and other foods.
In terms of calories, North America again ranks the highest at 3500 calories per day, exceeding the recommended 3000-calorie threshold. Latin America is a bit lower than the ideal threshold, at 2900 calories daily. East Africa and India average around 2000 calories per day, much lower than the suggested level.
