The charts illustrate the different proportion of employees’ qualifications including: Ph.D.-Science, Ph.D.-Art, Master-Science, Master-Art, First Degree-Science and First Degree-Art in an advertising company in 1990 and 2010.
Overall, more and more staff got the Ph.D.-Science, the Ph.D.-Art and the Master-Art while the distribution of the Master-Science stayed unchanged and the remainder witnessed a decline. In addition, the Master-Science was the most popular degree in 1990 before it was overtaken by the Ph.D.-Science in 2010.
In terms of the upward trend, the Ph.D.-Science skyrocketed from 13% in 1990 to 30% in 2010 (the highest proportion in 2010). Similarly but to lesser extent, the Ph.D.-Art and the Master-Art experienced moderate growth. Specifically, the Master-Art increased by 2% in 2010 with 21% in 1990 and the Ph.D.-Art rose from 2% in 1990 (the lowest share in 1990) to 5% in 2010.
Regarding the remainder, the Master-Science showed a stability at 29%. In contrast, the First Degree-Science declined nearly a half from two-fifths to slightly above 10% and the First Degree-Art fell from 15% in 1990 to 2% in 2010 (overtook the Ph.D.-Art to become the lowest proportion in 2010).
