Overall, it is evident that the ratings for married people are higher than that for unmarried people. In addition, children aged under 18 have a large impact on married couples’s happiness.
As can be seen from the first chart, married people aged 18-29 is happiest, with the rating at 45 percent, while that for unmarried people who also in this age group is just 21 percent happiness. The happiness rating for people aged 50-64 is the lowest in both side. To be specific, the result for married people makes up 40 percent and unmarried people is 21 percent. The ratings for married people aged from 30-49 and 65 and over are 44. That for unmarried people in this 2 age group are 22 and 34 respectively.
With regard to the second chart, children under 18 make married couples happiest, with the rating at 44. Couples with no children accounts for 43 percent. children 18+only rated lowest, at 41 percent
