Overall, football was still the most favourable sport in two different periods, whereas basketball and tennis had a slight decrease in participants. Furthermore, volleyball received a considerable attraction, while other sports account for a small percentage.
In 2003, football was the most dominant activity, accounting for 44%. Additionally, basketball, the one ranked as the second most attractive sport, made up 28%. Furthermore, tennis and volleyball made up one-fifth of a chart, which were 9% and 12% respectively. It was 4% that students preferred to play other sports, while students who did not play any sports was solely 3%.
In a comparison with the 2013 period, although there was a decline in participants of football, 37% of students in this American high school preferred to play football. Similarly, basketball accounted for 22%, which was less than 6% in the previous period. Significantly, there was a dramatic rise in volleyball, surpassing basketball and becoming the second most popular sport, at 23%.
