The presented bar chart compares the volume of reserved water of six regions in Australia from October 2009 to October 2010.
Overall, data from all surveyed sectors indicated upward tendencies over time, with the exceptions being the decline and stabilization in the figures of Darwin and Brisbane, respectively. Additionally, another striking feature is that Sydney’s first rank was supplanted by Canberra’s lead after the given period.
Boasting the highest representation of roughly 80% in October 2009, the water capacity recorded in Sydney rose fractionally by around 3% after a year. Simultaneously, despite commencing with approximately 1% lower than the initial point of Sydney, Canberra’s statistics then reached the apex of practically 98% in 2010. As regards Melbourne and Perth, the former city’s water quantity virtually doubled from a low of around 22% to 40% and the latter area’s figure ascended pronouncedly by about 30% over the same timespan.
In stark contrast, Darwin’s water supply ultimately halved to nearly 23%, the lowest number in 2010. Meanwhile, only in Brisbane did the water level plateau at almost 58%, consistently maintaining a mid-range position.
