The pie charts present the daily intake of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar an average person in the USA consumes in each meal and in snacks.
In the case of sodium, dinner contributed 43% of its daily intake, followed by lunch, which added another 29%. Saturated fat also displayed the same trend with dinner and lunch contributing 37% and 26% respectively.
However, the daily added sugar intake did not follow the same trend. Only 23% of its intake was due to dinner. This nutrient was mainly present in snacks, which constitute 42% of its daily intake. On the other hand, snacks increased sodium’s intake by just 14% and saturated fat’s intake by 21%.
Comparing the three pie charts, it can be seen that breakfast contributed the least to the daily intake of all nutrients. It barely contributed 14% to sodium’s intake and 16% to saturated fat and added sugar’s intake.
