The bar chart compares proportion of changes between both genders who had a driving licenses from 1976 to 2006, while second data compares the shares of young drivers around 17 to 30 from 1996 to 2006.
Overall, it can be seen that first chart had experienced a gradual growth from over the period of 30 years however the second chart showed a reversed trend from over the period of 10 years. Especially, that males outperformed females in terms of driving licenses for motorbikes at both charts.
Firstly, the male and female showed the highest driving license share, 80% and 60%, respectively in 2006. However, this rate was the lowest in 1976 with 70% and 30%. After a few years, men’s share remained stable at 70%, while women’s share rose slightly to 3%. In final years, the figures for females had become closer 25% than 1976.
Secondly, young drivers who between 17-30 experienced a considerable decrease in their share of license for motorbike. Males’ figure reached a peak to 50 % in 1996 but this figure has dropped minimally around 45%. There, the figures for females went down from 30% to 20%.
