The first bar chart gives detailed information about the proportion of males and females owning driving license in one European nation from 1976 to 2006, while the second bar graph illustrates gender distribution of young drivers from 17 to 20 years old.
Overall, it is clear that there was an upward trend, albeit to varying degrees and while the percentage of young drivers decreased for both genders throughout the period.
According to the first chart,in 1976, the percentage of men with a driving licence was about 40 percentage points higher than that of women, which were 70% and 30%, respectively. After that, the figure for males remained stable at around 70, in 1986, while the percentage of females who had license increased to 40. Moreover, both men and women drivers holding license increased gradually rose to 80% and 60, in 2006.
As can be seen in the second graph, men were leading categorty at 50%, in 1996, and women made up only 30 percent.However, both genders witnessed a decrease, with a more remarkable decline in females,stood at around 45 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
