The graphs compare the data about the spectators of two specific genres of TV shows
across genders and age groups in Australia.
Overall, while there is a big difference between males and females who watch reality programs, the share of the genders is almost the same in respect of game shows. Additionally, reality programs attract viewers of all ages more than game shows.
Upon closer inspection, women account for close to 70% of the viewership of reality shows, followed by men, with approximately half that percentage. Such shows are enticing for older people and middle-aged individuals, whose percentages are relatively the same. In comparison, the rate of older people in game programs is close to that of reality shows, conversely, the percentage in game shows is less than in reality shows, with about a 25% difference.
In game shows, both males and females make up 60% of the viewership. Regarding the young generation, they share a similar rate in both reality and game programs. The percentage of spectators aged between 25 and 34 is nearly 40% in game shows, compared to this, it is higher by 20% than reality programs.
