In general, people spent the most time on both digital devices for games and social networking, while time for news was the least.
57% of individuals used tablets for games, compared to the 35% on smartphones, both figures represent the highest share for each device. This was followed by the category of social networking, which accounted for 29% on smartphones and 15% on tablets. Meanwhile, the percentage of time spent on utilities on smartphones was exactly a fifth, significantly higher than that of tablets (3%).
Regarding the remaining categories, people allocated 13% of their time to music and videos on tablets, which was 5% higher than the figure for smartphones. Turning to news, it received the least amount of time on both devices, with 3% on smartphones and 4% on tablets. Similarly, other purposes made up a minimal share in each device.
