The two pie charts compare the reasons why individuals decide to undertake an MBA program with the factors that employers consider most important when recruiting MBA graduates
Overall, while the vast majority of MBA students pursue the degree to gain better career opportunities, employers place equal emphasis on personality and professional knowledge rather than solely on academic qualifications. This highlights a clear difference between graduates motivations and employers expectations.
According to the first chart, the majority of MBA graduates, accounting for 65%, chose to study for this degree in order to obtain better job opportunities. Personal development was the second most common reason, representing 15% of respondents. A smaller proportion, 12%, pursued the qualification to be able to do their job more effectively, while only 8% aimed to help others
The second pie chart shows that employers value personality and previous experience related to knowledge the most, with both factors accounting for 25% each. Qualifications and previous experience in terms of connections are equally important, at 20% respectively
In contrast, presentation or appearance is considered the least significant factor, mentioned by only 10% of employers
