The pie charts provide information about the proportion of people who volunteered for organizations in 2008 and 2014. Overall, while the percentage of individuals who volunteered for educational, art, and other sectors exhibited a downward trend, the reverse was true for the proportion of volunteers in environmental, sport, and health care fields. Additionally, most people preferred working for educational organizations, however, they bucked the trend at the end of the period.
Focusing on increases first, the proportion of non- paid workforce in sport organizations started at 15% in 2008 and this was followed by a considerable rise to 25% in 2014, meanwhile starting at 21% in 2008, the percentage of volunteers in the environmental category rose moderately to 29% in 2014, and became the most volunteered organization. Moreover, the percentage of individuals who worked in the health care field increased negligibly from 2008 to 2014, reaching just 8%.
By contrast, the percentage of people who volunteered for educational organizations saw a significant decrease from 24% to 17% across the period. Furthermore, the proportion of volunteers in the art and other organizations dropped noticeably from 18% and 15% to 12% and 9% over the period.
