Overall, there was in increase in the total amount of vehicles consumption in the Australia, which was the result of the growth in the amount of SUV and others were sold, while the proportion of the sales of saloon was decrased. However the quantity of saloon cars sold was always the highest figures.
The quantity of saloon sold started at 31500 accounted for 75% in 1994, after which it experienced a decline to 31200 at exactly 65% in 2004, before ending the period at 28600 accounted for 55%.
Opposite changes can be seen in the figures for SUV cars and other types of cars, which significantly lower than the saloon, with SUV at 6% and others at 19% amounting to 2520 and 7980 cars sold, respectively. In the next decade, the percentage for both of them rise to 14% and 21% amounting to 6720 and 10040 cars sold, respectively. In 2014, the consumption of others remained unchanged meanwhile the share of SUVs continued to rise more than 10% compared to 2004, which was 4 times higher than in 1994.
