The four pie charts demonstrate the proportion of Italian and Yemenis in three different age groups: of 0-14 years, 15-59 years and 60+ years in 2000 and a prediction of these percentages in 2050.
In general, in 2000, people at the age of 15-59 years became the most common age group in both countries and it was predicted that the percentage of 60+ years-old people would increase slightly in 2050.
In Yemen, the proportion of people in both 15-59 years old and 0-14 years old saw a quite high figure, occurred approximately half of the total population (took up 46,3% and 50,1% respectively), compared to the population of 60+ years old, which had a extremely low percentage with only 3,6% in 2000. Besides, it was projected that the number of Yemenises who are 15-59 years old would increase significantly by 11% while the population of 0-14 years old would see a considerable collapse with more than 13% in 2050. Moreover, the percentage of aged people over 60 years old was forecasted to grow (from 3,6% to 5,7%).
In 2000, there was the highest number in the proportion of Italians in 15-59 years old with 61,6%, compared to the population of 0-14 years old and over 60 years old, which saw a normal figure (made up 14,3% and 24,1% respectively). Moreover, according to 2050 prediction, the percentage of Italians 60+ years old would grow dramatically by more than 18% and become one of the most popular age groups. Furthermore, it is projected that the population of 0-14 and 15-59 years old would decrease slightly by approximately 3% and 15%.
