The pie charts depict the population of Yemen and Italy divided into three age groups in 2000 and illustrate the outlook for 2050. The data is measured in percentage.
At first glance, it is readily obvious that the population of younger generation and adults prevailed in Yemen and Italy, in 2000, respectively. However, it is predicted that there will be more grownups by 2050 in Asian country, while in the Europian one, the number of young and elderly people will become almost equal.
In 2000, in Yemen, the number of children comprised the greatest fraction of 50.1%, followed by adolescents and adults with the figure of 46.3%. On the contrary, approximately 14% more grownups lived in Italy, while older and younger generations accounted for around 24 and 14 percent, respectively.
In 2050, it is likely that the number of citizens in the age group between 15 and 59 will increase by 10%, while 13.1% fewer people under 14 will live in Yemen. In Italy, conversely, young adults and seniors will make up relatively the same proportion of 42.3 and 46.2 percent. The number of children is predicted to fall to 11.5%.
