Football emerged as the most popular sport for watching, with approximately 40% of males tending to watch it, while the participation rate accounting for just over 10%. The pattern of higher viewership than participation was general across all categories. Badminton maintained identical proportions of viewership with horse riding and racing combined, both at around 35% , inferior to football’s viewership.
Fishing demonstrated the highest participation, almost 50% of males choose to join it rather than just watching. However, participation rates mostly hovered between 20% and 25%, predominantly in rugby basketball, badminton, as well as horse riding and racing.
Badminton showed the most balanced preference structure, holding the closest percentages of both viewership and participation rate, at about 25%.
Overall, most sports demonstrated a preference among males for watching sports rather than participating in them, with viewership ranging from 12.5% to 40%, especially for football. However, fishing stands out with an opposite distribution ,indicating an overwhelmed enthusiasm to practise the interest
