The first chart compares how much rice was and will be consumed in X country from 1990 to 2040, while the second chart illustrates how much rice was consumed in the past and will be consumed in the future (down the line) rather than other food crops in the same period.
Overall, although there was no noticable changes how much rice was produced and consumed in the past, it will be expected that both figures will rise, repetitively. Moreover, the consumption of the rice was higher than other food crops, but there will have no gap between between both of them.
Regarding with rice production, it stood at nearly 25 millions tons, while consumed rice was higher than the former at around 30 millions of tons in 1990. the production of the rice kept unchanged thoroughout the most of the period, at around 30 millions tons , while rice consumption witnessed general rise between 1990 and 2010, which was approximately 27 million of tons. In 2020, rice production saw a sharp growth, more than half, while consumed rice went up slightly. Furthermore, it will be expecting that the former will be increasing incredibly in 2040, reaching its the highest peak, will be 75 millions of tons. Around 59 millions tons of rice will be eaten that year.
As for the second chart, other food crops required more demand than rice in 1990, at around 51%. In 2000, rice accounted for 75 %, before it underwent a slight increase about 77% in 2010, while in 2000 other food products was lower than the former, which exhibited 27% and it saw a slight decrease at around 25% in 2010. By 2020, consumed rice had dominance, reaching the highest peak, approximately 81% of rice was eaten, while that year, food products accounted for nearly nearly 24%. In the future, the consumption of rice and food products will have no gap between them, which both will be more than 50% in 2040.
