The chart and table illustrate the percentage of people who were satisfied with US airlines and various aspects of the flying experience in 1999, 2000 and 2007.
Overall, it is clear that satisfaction levels increased over the period, reaching their highest point in 2007, while dissatisfaction declined. Similarly, most aspects of air travel showed an upward trend, although one category only appeared in the final year.
The proportion of satisfied passengers rose steadily from 65% in 1999 to 69% in 2000, before peaking at 72% in 2007. In contrast, the percentage of dissatisfied customers decreased gradually, falling from 32% to 29%, and then to a low of 24% at the end of the period.
A similar pattern can be observed in the table. The highest satisfaction levels were recorded for the courtesy of flight attendants, which increased from 88% in 1999 to 92% in 2007. Courtesy of check-in and gate agents also remained high, ending at 88%. Meanwhile, satisfaction with ticket prices rose significantly from 45% to 65%, despite being the lowest figure at the beginning.
