Overall, the most significant alteration is the conversion of the national history exhibition into local history room, the addition of a car park at the expense of the line of trees, the introduction of special exhibitions, education centre and a cafe. It is also clear that the garden and the road almost remain the same after 50 years.
Turning to the details, in 1957, the national history exhibition was the main building, featuring the local history in the top right and the museum story room at the top left right at the entrance hall. By 2007, the main building increased in size and was converted into a local history room while a cafe was built right on the site where the museum store room used to be and the local history room was knocked down at the place of reception. The new layout features a museum room right next to the left of the reception and the introduction of special exhibitions at the bottom right and an education centre at the bottom left.
Regarding outside of the building, the garden in the north was the same until 2007 while the line of trees in the south was cut off in favour of a new car park. The lead from the road to the main building was also demolished.
