The given table illustrates various changes a local museum underwent from its opening in 1957 to 2007. Overall, it is clear that the museum witnessed remarkable developments throughout the given period, most noticeably, the reduction of trees and the increase in facilities serving for several activities.
As can be seen from the map in 1957, the museum was a green space with a number of trees planted in the garden and along the road at the bottom. It is clear that there was also a small way connecting the road to a museum, leading directly to the entrance hall in the middle at the bottom. Another point to note is that the local history room and a museum store-room were located at the bottom left-hand corner and bottom right-hand corner of the museum respectively. The small way also led further upward to a national history exhibition, which was the largest area, situated at the top of the museum.
Regarding the transformation in 2007, it is seen that the majority of trees were cut down for the extension of the museum and an erection of a car park. Specifically, the small way was removed and surrounding trees were cleared to make way for a car park beside the road. The entrance was relocated to the left-hand corner, leading to a newly built museum shop. In the museum, the national history exhibition was subdivided to create more functions, including special exhibitions and an education centre while the local history room was moved to right under these places, leaving its old place for reception. Meanwhile, the museum store-room was converted into a cafe in the bottom right corner.
