The picture illustrates the process of producing forecasts used by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
Overall, it is clear that there are four main stages in forecast production, beginning with collecting incoming information and ending with spreading it to the residents through the broadcast.
At the first and the second stages of forecast production, there are three tools to collect and three forms of analyzing and forecasting. Firstly, information about the weather can be collected by satellites and analyzed as a satellite photo and radar screen. Additionally, incoming information can be received by radar and examined on a radar screen and also as a synoptic chart. Lastly, the data could be collected by drifting buoys and converted into a synoptic chart to evaluate the information.
Regarding the third stage, all patterns of information are transported to technological devices to prepare the broadcast. Finally, the forecast weather is produced and spread to the residents through various types of broadcasts such as TV newsreaders, radio, and recorded announcements.
