The image presents two maps of a coastal town labeled as "Portland 1950" and "Portland 2007". Both maps are oriented with North at the top. In the 1950 map, the layout features prominent areas labeled as "Industrial Area" with buildings and chimneys, "Grassland", and "Car Park", adjacent to the main "Road" that intersects the top section near the "Sea" area which has wave symbols. The 2007 map shows a significant development of the town. The previously open areas are now densely developed; marked facilities include a "Park", "Swimming Pool", "Yacht Marina", "Multi-storey Car Park", "Shops", "Cinema", and "Apartments" which are situated alongside a winding "Road" which also leads to the sea depicted with wave icons. No numerical data points/percentages are provided for any sections on the maps.

The maps depict the changes in the coastal town, called Portland, between 1950 and 2007.
Overall, it can be observed that over a 57-year period, Greenland was removed in order to construct new accommodations. Also, recreational facilities were established in Portland.
In 1950, in the southern area of the map, there was plenty of Greenland. Also, there was a main road which stretched from south to north, and it led to the sea. On the right side of the road, there was a parking area, and on the other side of the road, there was an industrial area.
In 2007, in the south-east of the city, many houses were built. On the left side of the road, a cinema was opened, and several shops were constructed on both sides of the road, in the southern area. In the north-east of the city, three apartments were constructed. Moreover, in the west of the town, a swimming pool appeared, which had a multi-storey car park, and the pool led to a park. In addition, the road stretched around the sea, and the sea was facilitated with a yacht marina.
