The two maps illustrate the changes which occurred in a coastal town , Portland between 1950 and 2007 . Looking at the overall perspective , it can bee clearly seen that their are many changes in the coastal town called port land . Generally speaking many new development such as swimming pool , shops , apartment etc . It is clear that only two things that remain the same which are the main road and the sea in the top . Moreover , a lot of new facilities are constructed in this town .
The grassland is located in the south was replaced by a cinema and shops on the left of houses can be seen on the right . The industrial field on the northeast side became a huge multi – storey car parking . Moreover , swimming pool is situated in the north side near a park . The sea range in the middle was transformed and developed into a marina . In the north west side grassland was cut down and new houses was built there .
Furthermore , north west side grassland was cut down and new shops and cinemas are situated there , left side of the road car park was built in 1950 but after new development appartments are located in 2007 .Overall , it can bee see that many new changes in Portland between 50 years . In 1950 , Portland was lack of facilities but in 2007 many new changes and oppurtunities for citizens .
